How To Send A Parcel

Here's our easy-to-follow guide to sending your parcel:

  • Pack your parcel appropriately - making sure the item you’re sending is sufficiently protected.
  • Clearly address the parcel - include both the recipients and senders addresses. If you don't know the recipients post code, use the link to the "Royal Mail Postcode Finder" on the left of this page.
  • Bring your parcel to Parcel Promise in South Cornelly.
  • Speak to a member of our Customer Service team who will weigh your parcel and give you a cost for sending it.
  • Complete the appropriate paperwork.
  • If you require a tracking number we will email or text it to you.
  • You can pay by Credit Card, Debit Card or cash.

    Packaging Advice

    It is very important to make sure that your parcel is properly packaged, to prevent it getting damaged on its travels. Read through the tips below for more information.

    Do

  • Packages might get stacked in transit, so boxes should be strong and durable.
  • Choose the right size of box for its contents and use cushioning material to protect your items.
  • Use the best quality packaging materials - Parcel Promise stocks a great selection.
  • Tape up the box well.
  • Address your parcel clearly, use capital letters when handwriting labels.
  • Items that have sharp edges or points should be well packed to avoid penetration of the packaging.
  • Use cardboard dividers where appropriate.
  • Recycling is good so, when re-using a box, take off or cover all labels and stickers.
  • Don’t

  • Use fabric or cloth bags.
  • Don’t over seal your package. All shipments can be opened by customs authorities for inspection.
  • Don’t use Sellotape, string or rope to seal your shipment.
  • Don’t rely on "Fragile" and "Handle with care" labels, they are no substitute for good packaging.
